I had two bonavitas, one in each size, and was pretty unhappy with the 1.7L.
though my 1L has a bit of rust, the 1.7L had several problems.
the 1.7L was extremely loud, the kettle itself was too tall to fill in my sink at home, and then to top it all off, it leaked from the handle when heating water.
so I returned it.

instead of buying another bonavita, as even the 1L hasn\’t been 5 stars, I bought an oxo one this time.
it is small enough to fill in the kitchen sink here at home, and though the lid doesn\’t go on as securely as the bonavita ones do, I don\’t feel like it is loose enough to come off inadvertently.
the kettle is also small enough to fit in my cabinet so it won\’t get dirty when we\’re using the stove.
